An entry for 's contest, Challenge 7: Western Zodiac [link]
Going through the zodiac signs, my first thought is Libra since it's my sign and is probably the most difficult one to do. However, I do have the perfect Libra in the Crossing Death crew--Althena, Goddess of Order and justice addict.
While Althena does an excellent job maintaining order and balance on her world of Ther'ran, she has a tendency to stamp out injustices she sees. Unfortunately for the mortals, this means that Althena may support you in one breath and go against you in the next.
The Libra scales are dexterously balanced atop her blade, the Rosalide. It's a living, plant-like blade that emits a pollen that once it enters the bloodstream...well...let's just say that you do not want her to draw blood with that thing.
I tried a different technique to do the shadows, and I'm quite satisfied with the results.
You are right, that was a very poor criticism. Let me try better:
This applies to other parts of the picture, but I'll use the breasts as an example since that was my original observation. They are quite flat. Flat as in 2-D, not flat as in a drawing (I already know it's a drawing).
when drawing anatomy try to imagine the figure as an actual object in 3-D space. Something that helps with that (along with studying anatomy) is studying wooden models like this: [link] Look at the basic 3-D shapes and how they connect with one another.
Anyway sorry about that first post, I like to troll people on DA when I'm tired. As you can see I'm not that good at it. Hope this helps!
trust me I'm a boobie expert

It's something I've been aware of and trying to do, but I guess it hasn't been as successful as I hoped.
